In our efforts to improve population health, our team studies how nutrition policies, behaviours, and environments shape what people eat, and how evidence can be used to create tools, interventions, and guidelines that lead to healthier communities in Canada and around the world.

Our research can be grouped into three main areas of focus: Heart Health, Food Literacy & Nutrition Practice, and Nutrition Policy.

Heart Health

Our research examines the relationship between diet and health outcomes with a particular emphasis on those with cardiovascular diseases, including heart failure and hypertension.

Food Literacy & Nutrition Practice

Our research strives to increase lifelong healthy eating and disease prevention by creating, implementing, and evaluating tools designed to improve food literacy and trust in nutrition.

Our research strengthens public health nutrition by generating data, strategies, and tools that analyze and improve both nutrition policy and nutrition behaviours.
