Dr. JoAnne Arcand

Dr. Arcand is an Associate Professor and the Research Excellence Chair in Food, Nutrition & Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ontario Tech University. 

​

Educated at the University of Western Ontario (BScHE) and the University of Toronto (MSc, PhD) and recognized internationally for her work, Dr. Arcand's studies investigate strategies that help empower the public, practitioners, and policymakers so they can incorporate healthy eating practices, guidelines, and policies into everyday life. 

​​

Of particular interest to Dr. Arcand is the use of technology and artificial intelligence to improve nutrition and health outcomes. Dr. Arcand ensures that end users are involved at all stages of research to foster equitable public health solutions. ​
